Length: 3 minutes, 2 seconds
This carol, derived from a 12th century French folk song, tells the story of the animals of the nativity each telling of their contributions. The donkey gave a ride to Mary, the cow gave his manger for a bed, the sheep gave his wool for a blanket, and the dove cooed the child to sleep.
This arrangement is designed to help young players learn the basics of 6/8 time. The tempo is moderate, but should still be felt in 2. There are parts for six (or more) percussionists, but the triangle/tambourine and/or the timpani parts could be left out if lacking enough players.
