This piece was composed for the 2024 Wisconsin Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony. Four officers who had lost their lives in the line of duty the previous year were honored at that ceremony. Three of those officers were killed in events that occurred near where I lived and where I worked. The title references the Biblical verse “Greater love has no one than this: that they lay down their life for their friends.”
