Commissioned by Matt Lamb in memory of his father, this work is comprised of five sections. Each describes a part of the journey of Corporal Charles Lamb, USMC, from his enlistment in 1966, through his time in Vietnam, and ultimately his honorable discharge in 1968.
The piece depicts Chuck's time in basic and additional training, his struggle to adapt to the climate and culture of Vietnam, the terror of battle, the grief experienced when witnessing fellow soldiers being wounded or killed, as well as events at home, and finally Chuck’s pride in having served and returned.
